S1 English Enhancement Programme(PET)

Our school is committed to helping students learn and develop to the best of their abilities. To ensure they have continued success with their journey in English Language fluency, we are organizing an after-school English Enhancement Programme for all S1 students in the second term.

This programme will help students strengthen their skills in English Language and further the confidence needed as they promote to higher forms. The programme will prepare them to sit for a recognized English proficiency test called “Preliminary English Test (PET)” to be held on 21st May 2016 in our school or 28 May in Kowloon Pui Ching Primary School. It is a Cambridge English test designed for students attaining an intermediate level of English.

Below are some photos of the seminar of the PET exam.

Before the students took the test on 21st May 2016, they attended an exam preparatory tutorial.

Jockey Club “From Page to Stage” Programme 2016 – Les Miserables

In order to enrich students' learning experience in drama, a theatre performance conducted by The Absolutely Fabulous Theatre Connection (AFTEC) is organised for form four to form five students. This year , all Form 5 students and 69 Form 4 students took part in this event.

Les Misérables - A Poignant Play5D Addison Ko Last Thursday, March 17, I watched a stunning and meaningful play Les Misérables. The play encouraged me to forgive others, as others forgive me. The theme of Les Miserables taught me that bad people can change if they really want to. One of the main characters, Jean Valjean, who was once a thief, ultimately turned out to be a beloved mayor and a responsible father.  The show started with some epic background music, which quickly helped me to start to concentrate. I think they did that on purpose to attract the audience.   During the scene where Javert and Jean were talking, a cart fell on an old man in the street. Everybody couldn’t help screaming, and, even though I couldn't hear a single word, the scene said it all. I have to say, the sound effects and the acting were phenomenal; solid proof that they have spent almost a year on intense rehearsals. Throughout the show, I was amazed at the swiftness of the scene changes by the crew members. Lighting helped to determine the mood and in the blink of an eye, the past faded, and the present arrived. Another memorable part of the play was the slow motion during the explosion where the insurgents defend their castle. The sound effects matched with the lighting and the slow movement of the actors. The whole thing was totally wicked. I must thank the school for providing this precious chance for me to learn English. Let us not take the chance for granted. If there is another opportunity, I will definitely visit the theater again!
